Fire

Quadruple Mash Stout 12%

440ml 8 00

Moersleutel Fire is a non-adjunct stout we’re really proud of, brewed in collaboration with Crisp Malt. We got to use two of their heritage malts in this 100% English ingredient stout. Chevallier® Heritage Malt, grown since 1820 and the dominant barley variety in England until 1920, is the backbone of many Victorian ales. It brings deep flavors, robust maltiness, and a rich marmalade-like character. Then there’s Plumage Archer® Malt, the first commercially produced cross-bred barley, which had a similar impact on brewing as Chevallier. For years, they stood side by side, each adding its own nuance to 20th-century British beers. Our brewers love the subtle taste and clean finish of Plumage Archer. In this brew, both malts are used in equal parts. We also added Bramling Cross hops, which give notes of blackberries, spices, and wood, and East Kent Goldings hops, which are earthy, a bit bitter, but also have a hint of honey. This beer is quadruple mashed to get the most flavor out of these special ingredients. The result? Pure, thick, and robust. Cheers!

Moersleutel Fire – Quadruple Mash Stout 12%

Forged from Heritage. Fueled by Fire.

Moersleutel Fire is a non-adjunct stout we’re incredibly proud of — a beer that strips things back to their essence and lets exceptional ingredients do the talking. Brewed in collaboration with Crisp Malt, this stout is made using 100% English ingredients and showcases two of the most historically important malts ever produced.

At its heart lies a perfect balance of Chevallier® Heritage Malt and Plumage Archer® Malt, used in equal parts. These legendary barley varieties shaped British brewing for over a century, and in Fire, they come together once more to create something timeless, powerful, and deeply satisfying.

No adjuncts. No shortcuts.
Just malt, hops, yeast — and fire.

The Craft Behind Fire

A Celebration of English Brewing Heritage

Fire is built on respect for tradition, executed with Moersleutel precision.

Chevallier® Heritage Malt – The Victorian Backbone

Grown since 1820 and dominant in England until the early 20th century, Chevallier is the backbone of many classic Victorian ales. In Fire, it delivers:

  • Deep, robust malt flavor

  • Rich body and structure

  • Distinct marmalade-like sweetness

  • Old-world depth and warmth

Plumage Archer® Malt – Clean, Elegant, Historic

The first commercially produced cross-bred barley, Plumage Archer had an equally transformative impact on British brewing. Our brewers love it for its:

  • Subtle, refined malt character

  • Clean, dry finish

  • Gentle sweetness that balances heavier malts

Used together in equal parts, these malts create a stout that is bold yet elegant, complex yet beautifully clean.

English Hops for Depth & Balance

To complement the malt bill, we selected two classic English hop varieties:

  • Bramling Cross – contributing notes of blackberries, soft spice, and woody depth

  • East Kent Goldings – earthy, gently bitter, with subtle honeyed tones

Rather than dominating, the hops provide structure and balance, allowing the malts to remain front and center.

Quadruple Mash: Maximum Extraction, Maximum Flavor

Fire is quadruple mashed — a technique rarely used, but essential here. This process allows us to extract the absolute maximum flavor, body, and richness from these special heritage malts.

The result is:

  • Exceptional depth of malt flavor

  • A thick, luxurious mouthfeel

  • A stout that feels dense, powerful, and complete

Tasting Experience

Aroma: Deep, Warm & Inviting

  • Dark malt

  • Toasted bread

  • Marmalade

  • Subtle berry notes

  • Gentle earthiness and spice

Flavor Profile: Pure, Thick & Robust

Each sip delivers:

  • Rich malt depth

  • Marmalade sweetness

  • Dark bread crust and toasted grain

  • Hints of blackberry and spice

  • Balanced earthy bitterness

Despite its intensity, the finish remains surprisingly clean and refined.

Mouthfeel & Finish: Full-Bodied & Powerful

  • Thick and weighty

  • Smooth and warming

  • Long, satisfying finish

  • Never cloying, always balanced

At 12% ABV, Fire is bold but controlled — a stout built for contemplation.
