It was a crisp winter morning when we woke up, filled with excitement and anticipation for the day ahead. Today was the first-ever Sleuteldag beer festival, hosted by ourselves: Moersleutel Craft Brewery. As we made our way to the festival site at The Scrapyard & HAL25 in Alkmaar, we couldn’t help but feel a sense of nervousness mixed with excitement. We had been planning this festival for months, brewing the beers that would be poured, arranging the food vendors and live music, and making sure that everything was in order.
The festival site was buzzing with activity as the Sleutelaars (fans) arrived. We were thrilled to see so many people coming through the Scrapyard door, eager to taste the different brews on offer. The festival was a resounding success, with a wide variety of craft beers on offer, from light and fruity to dark and heavy. The food was equally good, with vendors serving up everything from burgers and fries to a very own Pizza bus and a Mexican taco food truck. As the day wore on, the crowds grew larger and livelier, with people dancing, laughing, and enjoying the festival atmosphere. We were thrilled to see so many people having a good time, and we couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride in what they had accomplished.
As the sun began to set, the festival wound down, with people slowly making their way back to their homes and hotels. We were exhausted but elated, knowing that we had pulled off a successful event that would go down in history as the first Sleuteldag beer festival. Looking back on that day, we felt a deep sense of satisfaction, knowing that we had brought together a community of craft beer lovers and created an event that would continue to grow and thrive for years to come. We hope to see you next year!
Cheers,
The Moersleutel family ??
