Moersleutel Pastry Factory Pecan Pie – Pastry Stout 10%

A Classic Dessert, Reimagined in Liquid Form

Moersleutel Pastry Factory Pecan Pie is a rich and indulgent 10% pastry stout inspired by the iconic dessert. Thick, aromatic, and deeply satisfying, this beer brings together toasted pecans, layered maple syrup, and delicately roasted coffee to create a stout that truly feels like dessert in a glass.

Bold yet beautifully balanced, this is pastry brewing at its most refined.

The Craft Behind Pastry Factory Pecan Pie

Pecan, Maple & Coffee — Perfectly Balanced

This stout was designed to let each dessert element shine without overpowering the others.

Three Grades of Maple Syrup

We blended three grades of maple syrup (A, B, and C), each contributing a different layer of sweetness:

  • Grade A – light, clean sweetness

  • Grade B – deeper maple richness

  • Grade C – dark, intense, almost molasses-like depth

Together, they create a complex, authentic maple profile that evolves with every sip.

Toasted Pecans: Nutty & Aromatic

Toasted pecans deliver:

  • Rich, nutty warmth

  • Bold aroma

  • Classic pecan pie character

They form the backbone of the beer’s dessert identity.

Lightly Roasted Ethiopian Coffee

We used lightly roasted Ethiopian coffee to provide:

  • Subtle floral aromatics

  • Gentle bitterness

  • Structure and balance

The coffee supports the pecan and maple without dominating them.

Tasting Experience

Aroma: Nutty, Sweet & Inviting

The aroma opens with:

  • Toasted pecans

  • Maple syrup

  • Soft coffee florals

  • Warm malt sweetness

Comforting, rich, and instantly mouth-watering.

Flavor Profile: Layered, Smooth & Dessert-Driven

Each sip delivers:

  • Toasted pecan richness

  • Layered maple sweetness

  • Light floral coffee notes

  • Soft malt backbone

The sweetness is deep but controlled, allowing the nutty and coffee elements to shine.

Mouthfeel & Finish: Velvety & Warming

  • Full-bodied and smooth

  • Creamy, luxurious texture

  • Gentle warmth from alcohol

  • Long finish with lingering pecan and maple

At 10% ABV, this stout is indulgent yet balanced.

What Makes Pastry Factory Pecan Pie Unique?

Maple Syrup, Done Right

Using three grades of maple syrup adds nuance and prevents one-dimensional sweetness.

Coffee as a Supporting Actor

Lightly roasted Ethiopian coffee provides floral balance rather than roasted dominance.

Dessert Without Excess

This stout delivers full dessert flavor while staying refined and drinkable.
