For this Moersleutel Barcode Nitro Blue, we used a blend of port and brandy barrels, giving this amazing beer notes of red fruit and dark chocolate. A complex blend of three different base beers, one of them was fermented with a Belgian yeast, supporting the fruitiness from the port and brandy barrels. Tannins from those barrels help with further complexity of the blend.
To bring out the soft fruity notes we put this barrel aged stout with Nitrogen instead of CO2, introducing a new deluxe mouthfeel to our already super thick barrel aged stout.

Introducing Moersleutel Barcode Nitro Blue, a luxurious evolution of our barrel-aged stout tradition. For this special edition, we blended port and brandy barrels to craft a beer with deep notes of red fruit, dark chocolate, and refined spirit warmth.

The blend is built from three different base beers, one of which was fermented with Belgian yeast — adding delicate esters and fruity complexity that beautifully enhance the character of the port and brandy wood. The barrels also contribute tannins, adding structure, depth, and a wine-like elegance to this intensely robust stout.

And then comes the innovation: instead of carbon dioxide, we infused the beer with nitrogen, creating a velvet-soft, creamy mouthfeel that perfectly highlights the fruity nuances within this heavy, spirit-kissed barrel-aged stout.
