Join our team in Alkmaar, NL

Senior Brewer (m/f/x)

Location: Alkmaar, The Netherlands
Employment: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Start date: To be agreed

Senior Brewer Alkmaar: that’s the role we’re hiring for. If you’re the kind of brewer who loves precision, clean process control, and dialing in flavors until they’re exactly right, keep reading.

Not an average brewer role (and we mean that in the best way)

At Moersleutel Craft Brewery, we’re not looking for an average brewer. We’re looking for someone who lives for craft beer, masters the craft down to the smallest detail, and genuinely enjoys creating something special every day.

This role isn’t for hobbyists or beginners. If you don’t get excited about perfectly balanced flavors, technical precision, and clean process control, this probably isn’t your thing. But if you’re the kind of brewer who cares deeply about every step and takes pride in world-class quality, you’ll fit right in.

Senior Brewer Alkmaar: your key tasks and responsibilities

  • Production Process: Independently manage the entire brewing process, from start to final production. This includes preparing malt, wort production, fermentation work, taking measurements, fine-tuning the beer, beer packaging, etc.
  • Quality Control: Ensure the quality of our beers at every step with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Recipe Development: Collaborate with the team to develop new flavors and improve existing recipes. Provide feedback on the technical aspects of the beer-making process.
  • Maintenance: Keep the equipment clean and in top condition to maintain an optimal work environment. Experience in maintaining brewing equipment is essential.
  • Spot opportunities for process improvements and implement them independently

Working environment & physical demands

  • This is a physically active role with a lot of standing and moving throughout the day.
  • You should be comfortable lifting heavy items, including 25 kg malt bags.
  • The brewery environment can be loud, especially during production and packaging (ear protection is your friend).

What we’re looking for

Must-haves

  • At least 3 years of experience in a brewery or a similar role
  • Technical insight and familiarity with brewery processes
  • Hands-on, solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to independently implement process improvements
  • Precise, hygienic working style with a strong focus on quality
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • MBO4 level of thinking or higher

What we offer

  • Meaningful work: your brews directly contribute to a brand loved by craft beer enthusiasts worldwide
  • Development and growth: we invest in your training and career opportunities within our brewery
  • An informal workplace with a team of true beer enthusiasts
  • A close-knit team of beer production experts who take quality seriously (but don’t take themselves too seriously)

Does this sound like you?

You enjoy:

  • Working with high standards and technical precision
  • Owning the process from raw materials to finished beer
  • Keeping quality and hygiene at the highest level
  • Solving problems and improving processes
  • Working in a tight team that takes beer seriously

You can:

  • Work independently without constant supervision
  • Stay focused and accurate, even during busy production days
  • Work physically throughout the day
  • Work hygienically and consistently according to brewery standards
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively
